Install LamaCP

One command on a fresh server. The installer asks for what it needs, sets everything up, and can be run again if it is interrupted.

What you need

  • A fresh server with Debian 12 or 13, or Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04, and root access
  • At least 1 GB of RAM (2 GB or more with mail and databases) and 5 GB of free disk
  • One public IPv4 address; with a second one, mail gets an address of its own
  • A domain name for the panel, such as panel.example.com, pointing at the server
  • Ports 80 and 443 free (and 53 for DNS, 25 for mail)

Start from a clean system: LamaCP installs and configures nginx, PHP, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Postfix, Dovecot, PowerDNS and the rest itself.

Install

Connect to the server over SSH and run:

curl -fsSL https://releases.lamacp.com/install.sh | sudo bash

The script checks the signature of the release it downloads before installing it.

  1. Answer the questions: the panel's domain, the administrator's name and e-mail address, and the server's addresses and name servers. Most have a sensible default.
  2. Wait while it installs; this takes a few minutes. If the connection drops, run the command again and it carries on.
  3. Open the sign-in address it prints at the end. Keep it: the sign-in page is at a secret address on purpose.
  4. Sign in as the administrator and turn on two-factor sign-in.

Add your license

Without a license LamaCP runs on the Free plan. To use a paid plan, buy a license, then in the panel open Server › License, enter the key and press Activate. The panel checks the license with lamacp.com once a day; if lamacp.com cannot be reached for a while, nothing stops.

Updates

New versions appear on the panel's dashboard. Updates are signed and verified before they install, and roll back by themselves if the new version does not start.

Would you rather have us install it? We do it for free: ask for an installation.
